through the grid 2018
This photo was taken at 6 AM from the North side of the Golden Gate Bridge. My intention with the composition was to highlight many iconic aspects of San Francisco (the bridge, the fog, the flowers) in a way that I personally had not seen before. I also took this picture because I found the different layers of it visually interesting.
:) 2018
This photo was taken at San Francisco Pride Parade 2018. It was fairly spontaneous but the colors of the scene particularly stood out to me at the time of taking the picture and I enjoyed the large portions of blue with the small rainbow accents, which I think is fitting for my friend, who is the subject of the photo.
MET 2018
These photos were taken at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I chose to group these photos together because I found it interesting that although the first picture was taken at sunset from the roof of the museum and the second picture is from half an hour later inside the museum, the colors of the photos are reflective of each other.
Fortune Cookie Factory 2018
This photo was take outside of the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory in Chinatown, San Francisco. The colors highlighted in this picture stood out to me when I captured it - the brightness of the lantern contrasted beautifully against the darker metal gate behind it, and I enjoyed the way the blue sky, green sign, and red lantern played off of each other.
Waving Through a Window 2018
This photo was taken through a window of Coit Tower in San Francisco. The way the trees naturally grew and the fact that this window was at my eye level seemed to perfectly frame the faint yet vibrant Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. This photo also plays well into my goal as an amateur photographer: to take unique and original photos of mundane or over-captured scenes.
Street View 2018
This photo was taken from the stairs leading up to Coit Tower in San Francisco. San Francisco is known for its steep streets, and I felt that this picture subtly featured this as well as simply capturing the everyday colors and scenery that a San Francisco local might see regularly.
